Itinerary

  • We’ll begin the tour by picking you up from your hotel or the airport in Dhaka. First, we’ll head to the Shahbagh Flower Market, a vibrant display of color and scent that offers a great start to the day.
  • From there, we’ll take a short walk to Suhrawardy Udyan, also known as the Old Racecourse Ground. Which is a historic site linked to the country's independence.
  • Next, we’ll explore the Dhaka University area, including the Central Shaheed Minar, a powerful symbol of Bangladesh’s Language Movement and the iconic Curzon Hall, a beautiful blend of Mughal and British architecture.
  • We’ll then drive toward the Dhakeshwari Temple, Dhaka’s oldest Hindu temple, before continuing to the 17th-century Lalbagh Fort, an incomplete Mughal fort filled with intriguing stories and elegant structures.
  • Afterward, we’ll stroll through Chawk Bazar and stop by the stunning Star Mosque (Tara Masjid) before visiting the quiet, serene Armenian Church in Armanitola. We’ll then walk through Shakhari Bazar, the Hindu artisans’ street filled with history, colors, and crafts.
  • Before the day ends, we’ll visit the majestic Ahsan Manzil (Pink Palace) and then head toward the bustling Sadarghat River Port for a short Buriganga boat ride - a must for understanding Dhaka’s river-based life.
  • By evening, we’ll check into your hotel in central Dhaka (AC Twin Sharing), have a delicious Bengali dinner, and rest for the night.
  • After breakfast and hotel checkout, we’ll drive to the historic capital Sonargaon, just outside Dhaka in a private air-conditioned vehicle.
  • Then, you’ll start a scenic drive toward Sonargaon, once the ancient capital of Bengal, located just outside Dhaka. As the city fades behind, you’ll enjoy views of rural life and greenery along the way.
  • Upon arriving in Sonargaon, your first stop will be the Folk Art & Craft Museum, located within the historic Sardar Bari complex. Here, you’ll explore a variety of exhibits showcasing traditional Bengali crafts, rural life, and cultural artifacts.
  • Right next to the museum, you’ll visit the beautifully restored Boro Sardar Bari, a striking mansion that reflects the grandeur of Bengal's zamindar (landlord) history.
  • After exploring the museum grounds, you’ll continue to the most iconic part of the tour – a guided walk through Panam Nagar (Panam City). This abandoned 19th-century merchant town features more than 50 decaying but majestic colonial-era mansions. As you walk along its quiet lanes, your guide will share stories about the rise and fall of this once-thriving Hindu merchant community.
  • From there, you'll head to the nearby Goaldi Mosque, one of the rare surviving mosques from the Bengal Sultanate period. It offers a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path experience and a glimpse into medieval Islamic architecture.
  • After a fulfilling heritage walk, you'll stop for lunch at a popular local restaurant, where you'll enjoy authentic Bengali cuisine (included in your package).
  • Post-lunch, if you’ve chosen the optional boat ride, your guide will take you to a nearby ghat on the Meghna River. Here, you’ll board a small local boat to enjoy a short, peaceful cruise through the tranquil waters - a perfect contrast to the morning’s historical exploration.
  • If time permits, you may also stop by a local market or artisan village nearby to experience the living culture of rural Bengal. Your guide may suggest spontaneous spots based on your interests and the day’s timing.
  • Finally, after this enriching experience, you’ll head back to Dhaka, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or preferred location.
  • If time allows, your guide may offer additional sightseeing or spontaneous experiences along the way.
